Your takeaways:

By the end of this workshop, you will have acquired practical insights and skills that you can immediately apply to your role in data management. Here’s what you’ll learn:

Defining the Scope: Understand how to design a data governance framework tailored to your organization’s goals and resources. This framework’s design considers various factors, including different types of data architectures.

Performing Maturity Assessment: Evaluate the current and desired states of your core data management capabilities to identify areas for improvement.

Designing Data Management Capabilities: Develop the governance structure for core data management capabilities, including data governance, data modeling and architecture, data quality, and metadata management. The governance structure for each capability includes:

    • Core deliverables
    • Policies and standards
    • Processes
    • Roles and corresponding responsibilities
    • Requirements for IT tools

Outlining an Integrated Implementation Approach and Roadmap: Learn strategies for effectively implementing the chosen capabilities. Create a long-term plan and implementation roadmap to guide your data management journey.

Designing Performance Management: Establish methods for assessing performance at multiple organizational levels to ensure ongoing improvement and alignment with strategic objectives.

This workshop is for you if you would like to:

  • Strengthen your professional reputation and influence
  • Open career opportunities
  • Get personal satisfaction and build a legacy

but you:

  • Never did it before
  • Want to rely on the best industry practice
  • Want to have a sparring partner to discuss different options

You may find a lot of information and training about data governance or various data management frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK2 and DCAM. This workshop is based on the O.R.A.N.G.E. data management framework.

This workshop is tailored to provide you with the skills and tools needed to effectively manage and govern data across various architectures and initiatives, leveraging the unique aspects of the O.R.A.N.G.E. framework:

Multipurpose and practice-based

This framework is practice-based and can be applied to build a governance framework for different types of data-related initiatives, such as improving data quality, implementing metadata management, including data catalogs, data lineage, and knowledge graphs, launching advanced data analytics and AI-driven technologies, etc.

Comprehensive Coverage of Core DM Capabilities and an Integrated Approach to their Implementation

It covers the core data management capabilities needed for every type of data-related initiative: data governance, data quality, business architecture, data architecture, data lifecycle management, and metadata management required for implementing the data fabric concept. It provides guidance on an integrated approach to implementing core data management (DM) capabilities.

Adaptable to Different Data Architectures

It is developed for different types of data integration architectures: centralized (data warehouse, data lake, data lakehouse) and decentralized (business domain and data mesh architecture)

Practical tools and resources

This framework is a complete suite of ready-to-use templates and plans that can be immediately applied to your data management projects.
